ANH is the entity in charge of collecting royalties corresponding to the State for the production of hydrocarbons, and their corresponding transfer to entities having rights to such royalties.
Royalties are the economic reward in favor of the State for the exploitation of nonrenewable resources, as is the case of petroleum and gas, granted to the departments and municipalities in whose territory exploitation is carried out, and to the ports where such resources are transported.
These resources contribute to local finances and social investment, because they seek to improve the quality of life, development, decentralization and the peace process. The royalties are channeled to investment in health, education and sanitary issues. This means that expenses of these resources must correspond to community needs, benefiting the unsatisfied basic needs .
On a quarterly basis, ANH publishes in widespread media, the different amounts awarded to the different entities. ANH invites all of those interested in finding out the payment of royalties and a history of payments made to each municipality and departmental entity to periodically consult this webpage.
